I have this horrible taste in my mouth and nothing that I eat taste right or gets rid of the awful taste. Can anyone help me with this? Has anyone here had this problem after surgery? What causes it and will it go away? Any suggestions about what to do about it? (brushing my teeth doesn't help at all) Thanks for any help I can get. Wanda

It is most likely from thru**** causes a strong metallic taste. It's common to get a yeast infection on your tongue after the surgery. Call your surgeon and he can confirm it and call you in a prescription. Good Luck, Erika L

Hi Wanda, I agree with Erika it is most likely thrush (candidiasis). I had this in the beginning as well and it got so bad I could not keep food down. I am going thru a bout of candidasis now as well. Waiting for my surgeon to call me in a prescription of diflucan. Contact your surgeon! Once you have been medicated it gets much better. Best of luck, Michelle.

Wanda, you also get a strange taste in your mouth when your body is in ketosis and burning fat. It will last as long as your body is in that state, but its not harmful. Just brush and chew gum and gargle! Patty
