Pouch Working Again
I'll admit I have been able to eat more now that I am farther out from surgery. My mind had adjusted to this new capacity...well now my pouch seems to be working again....but my mind needs fixed again. I start to feel full a lot quicker now
, and I stop eating but I feel disappointed that I can't eat more...because the food taste so good. I just started on Wellbutrin, I hope it will help me deal with my emotions and not look towards food for comfort.

Sarah,
I'm sure many of us will experience the same thing as we get further out. Dont be too hard on yourself, at least you recognize the issue and have sought out help to address it. Unfortunately, WLS doesnt offer us a new brain or take away the feelings we have about food, we need to use our own smarts to figure that out for ourselves or get the appropriate help.
Hang in there!

Well I am now 9 months out. I also post on the March 2004 board. And most of us still think about food, want the food but when we put it in our mouth.......a lot stays on the plate. Different things "get" to me.
The smell of grease makes me queasy. I cannot handle the smell of fried chicken or french fries. The buttery smell of popcorn is sometimes too much. I think my sense of smell is more distinctive and cannot at times get past it. But you know, it keeps me from eating more than I should.
I can take 1-2 bites of something sweet but I know if I take more, I will get sick. These helps me take care of my cravings. And if I do not listen, I dump.
I am glad that I have some of these issues. As I see it helping me in the future to stay on track with what I should be doing.
