Food of the Day
Hey all! I am really busy this weekend so I may not be able to post, but I will try! Here's a food idea for today:
Phoenix's Fruit Parfait
Ingredients:
* Tall glass for parfait
* LowFat or Nonfat Vanilla yogurt (I like 2 Dannon Light 'n' fit Carb Control Vanilla yogurts)
* 1/2 cup grapenuts cereal (not the flakes, just the grapenuts)
* 1 tbspn splenda
* 4-6 strawberries
* blueberries
* 1/2 banana
(You can really use any fruit that you like)
Directions:
Slice 2-3 strawberries and the 1/2 banana. Take rest of strawberries and mash them in a small bowl with 1 tbspn of splenda. Spoon some yogurt into the glass, top with grapenuts, then one type of fruit. Repeat layers, interchanging the fruit until glass is almost full. Now pour mashed strawberries and the juice over the top of the parfait. Chill for 2 hours and enjoy! This is really yummy and good for you!
