How do you know how much?
Just a question for you guys. I'm coming up on "soft solids" Thursday and I am wondering how much do I eat? I mean, I know when you get comfortably full, but do you get a scale or something? If I have turkey, do I put it in a measuring cup till I get to 4 onces? Probably a stupid question, but I have no idea.
Thanks,

I dont know if turkey is on soft solids, I think its more mashed potatoes or chili or things like that... I dont think meats are yet.... but you eat till comfy but NOT full. It may seems your eating alot because it may go through rather fast because its soft so dont be alarmed.....
Hope this helps

My surgeon says not to eat until you feel comfy. He says not to rely on how we feel at all, because it will only get us into trouble. Small kitchen scales are available at some grocery stores or kitchen gadget stores, like Bed, Bath and Beyond. I measure everything I eat, every single morsel, and then put it into FitDay so I know what nutrients I'm getting and if my choices are good, etc. I figure later on if I run into trouble, it will be easy to look back and see where I went wrong and what I did right.
Just my own opinion.

I use children's bowls and plates. My surgeon and nutrionist both say I should be eating six 4oz meals a day. And honestly, I've only eaten four ounces maybe once or twice. Sometimes a stick of cheese fills me up. Or a slice of ham. Or two bites of chili. I never force myself to eat the four ounces. And if I am still looking at the food on my plate after 30mins.. I am done. Period. I won't eat another bite.
Everyone is different. You will have to most likely experiment and then find your groove!
