O.k. my mom wants me to take my neice to New York next November for her 13th b-day. I'm interested in going on the cruise in September...which do I do or do I do....BOTH!?!?! Mom would probably cover most of the costs for the NYC (she would go also). Growing up I took 2 vacations...age 3 to Kings Island then nothing major again until high school. I went on school trips. This idea of having vacation time from work and having to take it...or lose it is totally new to me. I get 3 weeks...so cruise would be 1, NYC not sure...would be great if we did it for Thanksgiving. I look at having surgery again in December if I'm recovered from the planned for May, and might need some vacation time then. Oh, the places I can GO!!!!

It's not fair or reasonable to choose between those very different options. I also think you need to do both. NYC at Christmas is stunning, but a close second is November and of course you can't miss the cruise in September. Have fun! Jan
