wow......i got approved ..........

I am still a newbie here but i wanted to share the good news that I was approved for surgery today . I hope to have a date from my Doc in the next few days . I have been reserching wls for years and was afraid that the only way for me to have wls is self pay .there is no way i could ever self pay but i refused to give up . I am really going to do it . I can not wait . For those that feel i am taking the easy way out I wish you could walk in my body for 48 hours . That would be a learning experiment . wish me well and keep me in everyones prayers . i hope to get to know everyone here better .it has become a important part of my day to read eveyones posts . have a great night . tina

Way to go Shirley!!!I'm so glad that you are moving along on your WLS journey. A good tip from a postie to a preppie, keep on course. You never know what other people are thingking or not thinking about this life long journey that you have chosen for yourself. Surround yourself with supportive and postive people as this will be better than any medicine that your Doc can prescribe. Know that my prayers and the prayers of my family are with you and everyone who has a part to help make this a smooth transition for you. Tina, Congrats on your approval! I know how special those words are to hear. I doubt anyone on here will think you are taking the easy way out since many of us are post-ops or hope to be soon LOL, but I know the point you were making. My true friends and family knew this is a lifetime commitment and I have to work hard to getting healthier every day. Anyone else's opinion doesnt matter to me because they havent walked a mile in my shoes and dealt with the back, hip and knee pain or the humiliation of breaking a chair at a family dinner or dealt with the staring and snide comments from strangers that I put up with for years. I don't wish that life on ANYone, not even the blonde chick I hated most in highschool . I hope you get your date soon and can join me on the loser's bench! Take care, Amy

thanks everyone for the kind words and support . my husband and 4 kids are all being supportive and loving but are also afraid of the surgery at the same time . I am the backbone to our family . they all knew that i had health issues but not really in any great detail . so this has been a eye opening time for them . thanks to all tina
