Feelings Hurt

Yesterday I went to get an Upper GI at a place in Brandon (sent there by my primary care physician). After I finished doing the paperwork and undressing the nurse asked how much did I weigh and I told her. She then goes out and comes back to say they could not do the test because the machine only went to 300. She was very apologetic, but it still did not help how I was feeling. I left the building and got into the car and called my mom and started crying. So, now I'm searching for a place to have the Upper GI done (that Humana will pay for). On a good note, I had my evaluations today and the psych is cleared, but the nutritionist wants to see me again in two weeks before she clears me to check my blood sugar levels and such. I found out that I have sleep apnea, so now I have to have the sleep study done, so we shall see how long it takes to get that scheduled. So, we shall see. I just wanted to vent. Hi Keva: Chins up! A lot of places are like that about weight. I bet that table would have did just fine. You just may have to make some phone calls, or have who sent you there make a call, that should settle it. Good luck on all of the pre op doings. Keva I was wondering if you would do better just to put it back on the PCP office staff to find you a place that can properly do the testing. I would call them and tell them your experience..and then say.. YOU find the right place for me, covered by my insurance and I will go. I don't think it's up to YOU to have to do all the leg work on this! Hugs. Gail
