UGI - Funny Experience
HI everyone... I just had to tell you what happened today while I was getting a UGI. I tried finding out as much information as possible before I went this morning -- I had no idea what to expect. (My PCP ordered it to see if I have Gerd).
We'll first I dressed for work since I was going straight there after the appointment (business casual with dress shoes - flats of course). When I arrived they had me put on a hospital gown (of course too small) one worn correctly and the other worn backwards (I stood in the dressing room wanting to cry -- i looked horrible) ....anyway the nurse said I had to leave my shoes on...so here I was sitting with other patients.. they are all wearing socks.. and me in my dress shoes...I just couldn't help but to laugh. So for anyone else out there --- please bring socks with you 
Next, while taking several extra's the Dr. had me drink the chalk drink (not sure what it's called). Through out the entire process I drank almost the entire canister of it. Once I was done the nurses had me sit in a chair -- about 30 minutes went by as nurses and Dr's were coming and going -- and me politely sitting there saying hi ...how are you..back to them. Well then the nurse said I could change back into my clothes.
I walked into the dressing room (floor length mirror) and right smack on my face... WHITE Chalk!!! looked like I was wearing white lipstick...oh my go**** was sooo funny. My 2nd piece of advice...ask for a napkin to wipe off your mouth..just in case. Not one person said anything :-- I could have been upset -- but I just laughed...I was upset enough with how I looked in the gowns that were to small for me.
