OH the Pain!

Once again my AMOS family I need your Help! Ok so here it goes, I walk and I am drinking 60 oz of water daily. Before I eat I take my fluids and I time myself to make sure I don't drin****il exactly 1 hour and a half afterward. So why am I hurting sooo bad? Everytime I sit for more than 10 minutes my back just kills me and it's like right in my lungs I feel the pain. So I do the breath exercises and no relief. Now I'm looking at my G-tube and it seems it's infected because it's just full and dripping this liquid and I'm seeing a red ring just growing around it! Anyone that has had experience with these issues I'd appreciate you share with me, thank you! God Bless Johanna

You should let your doctor know about the possible infection right away. I can't offer any advice on the pain, as I haven't had the surgery yet, but something does not sound right. I think I would let my doctor know asap. Good luck!

I agree, call your doctor asap and describe the g tube to him. I had back pain in my lungs too, but was told it was from being under anesthesia. It went away after a couple weeks, but there were times it hurt bad! My dear angelette, I will keep you in my thoughts and PLEASE let us all know what the doctor thinks. Amy

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Will send out a few prayers for you. I agree with Amy you need to describe the redness and the G-tube to your MD.

Hi Johanna, I too had redness around my G-tube. I went in to see my doctor and thankfully it was "normal irritation" red, not "infection" red. But only your doctor can make that call, so please call him/her. I had to drain my G-tube several times a day. When I drained it, my abdominal and even shoulder pain went away! My back pain was helped by changing positions frequently. VERY frequently. I hope that you feel better very, very soon! Kristen

Hi, I did not have a G tube, but I did have the back pain... I slept on a recliner for a long time b/c of it... it went away with time. Good luck. Flávia
