Going Snorkeling!

Today I'm taking a group of students snorkeling in Key Largo. I had to get some practice in yesterday driving a 15 passenger van. It's a beautiful day and I am soooo looking forward to this. But of course not all is well, I started my period (or whatever, I am bleeding). I haven't had a period since October 2002 because I am on Depo. But now I am on coumadin (Amy...blood thinner), for a DVT (Amy...blood clot) and just had my dose raised so I am having a little bleeding. I will call my PCP on Monday and let her know unless things get worse. It's not bad now just a pain since I am going to be in the water all day. Thankfully, I was smart enough to always keep supplies around and didn't have to run out and buy anything. It was weird to think about how long it had been since I've put in a tampon...must say it's easier than it was 150lbs ago. I've already slicked up with my 50spf (Amy...sun protection factor) lotion and will re-apply before we actually get in the water...I wanted it to have time to absorb into my skin. I don't tan...it's either white or red.

Sarah Margaret, Thanks for my own personal acronym definitions I am college-educated, I promise ! (Go Gators!) Glad that you will see your doctor to get some answers on your bleeding problem. Anyway, I hope that you have a wonderful time snorkeling and don't get too red. I can totally relate to the either "red or white" factor I burn, blister, peel then I'm back to white Hope you feel better soon. Good luck! Amy

I realized I didn't put after those notes to you...glad you still knew I was joking with ya! The water was rough and it took me a little while to get adjusted to what I had to do in the water. The little air vest just bugged the crap out of me so I deflated it..trust me I don't need help floating. I was with others out in the water then the next thing I knew I was the ONLY one out there!!! So I headed back to the boat. This is the first time in my life I would have EVER thought I could go snorkeling...it was also a WOW moment that I could get into the drivers seat of the van and actually had to move the seat up!!! I know in this line of work driving a van is a neccesity, can't really be mandatory, so I was nervous about whether I would be able to. Funny thing...many people got out of the water because it was TOO cold...some even had wet suits...but I thought is felt great...the extra insulation must have helped.
