Test Results!
hey guys, for those of you that have been asking me how I have been, I finally got the test results from my blood work today....just as I suspected, I have a Vitamin B-12 defficiency, which he said was due to the surgery, so now I have to have a b-12 shot once a month basically at least the next year BUT he said that since my levels were so dangerously low I have to have 12 shots in the next month just to get me back to "normal" , which really sucks becuase no one hates shots more than I do but I know its for my health. PLEASE make sure that you guys are taking care of yourselves, don't make the same mistake that I made, please take your vitamins on a DAILY basis, they are so important for us, and please remember that surgery is only a TOOL not a one time solution to a life long problem, sorry if I sounds like i'm "preachin" but I don't want to see you guys going through things like this...I love you all!
Marta:
So sorry you are having problems. My doctor started me on B-12 on month 3. I get a B-12 shot every month. And to be safe, my PCP and I agreed for me to have blood work every 3-4 months to make sure everything was ok.
I hope everyone takes precautions to make sure you are getting all the vitimin suppliments you need.
I am SO glad you went to the doctor and didn't blow it off! Glad it is something that can be addressed quickly. Now you're gonna look like a pin cushion by the end of those 12 shots within the next month!
I take my B-12 every day after I heard about a post-op who came to a support group meeting that my friend attended and was confined to a wheelchair due to never taking their B-12 after surgery. I take Twinlab sublingual B-12 mini tabs that melt under my tongue and taste kinda like bubble gum.
Quit being a stranger around here, Missie!
