I have just learned that this insurance covers WLS but I am not familiar with it at all. I know it is like a PPO. Anyone here using it for WLS and was it REALLY expensive outta pocket? TYIA!

I hve aetna pos II. I just had surgery on Oct 13th. My deductable was already covered so I had no out of pocket (atleast so far). Just be prepared to have your 6 mo supervised weightloss, psych eval, and sleep study. Mine was approved on the first try. Goodluck!

Aetna Choice POS II is exactly that - a PPO. I paid $2,200 to the surgeon's office, since my insurance is 70/30. Part of it also covers my first year of visits. Then I paid a $600 "deposit" to the hospital. It looks now that will be it. Kristen

I have Aetna US Access. You need to call them. I talked to them today and i am nervous as hell! I asked them about them not covering WLS as of January 1st, he said that is correct. Unless your compnay buys a rider, it will NOT be covered. So check with your Aetna and ask your HR person if your company is buying the rider.
