Test result not too good

Hey there my fellow floridians.........I had my bone density test this morning and it showed morderate loss, so now they are sending me to get x-rays to see the severitiy of it to put me on medication or not. They usualy don't put anyone on medication for this at my age but being that I had wls I may have to. I thought I was doing good taking all my vitamins including calcium, but I guess one never knows. NOTE: to everyone....get checked.

Kim I'm so sorry to hear that you're having problems. I hope it can be remedied easily with medication. What made you suspect bone loss? I know bone loss due to reduced calcium absorbtion is a possible side effect of RNY surgery. Is that the kind of wls you had done? Also, what kind of calcium are you taking? I'm a pre-op and trying to get as much info as possible. Keep us updated on how you're doing. Vickie
