Feeling kind of blue

Hello, Can anybody who has Cigna HMO - Open Access please let me know if they cover the open RNY? I called and on the phone they tell me as long as it's medically necessary, but when I go to the website, it says if the benefit plan doesn't have an exclusion and I looked at my paperwork and mine does. I'm very down as I definitely don't have the money to self pay and I so need to have the surgery. If I can't have the surgery, I have no more hope. Wendy Troyer

Wendy the exclusion it is possible doesn't come from cigna but your employer.You need to call your Human Resourses and see what they tell you. I just had mine done and was approved in less than 3 weeks. I had to have six months supervised weight loss, a psy.eval.and a nutricial eval. That was completed on thursday and I called om Tuesday and was approved. This was cigna hmo...My wife talked to Cigna and the woman talked to a supervisor and they said no they were not gonna stop approving it.
