Hey all. Its me again. I know I have only been popping in every month it seems like. Life just keeps me busy these days. The holidays are approaching.. and im soooo excited. I love the feeling in the air of shopping. Anyway.. to the point! Im doing pretty well. Im feeling back to normal, and thinner of course. Im able to do things I have not been able to do in 15 yrs. I go around town and people dont even recognize me. I am actually surprised by the way I am able to eat. Sugar doesnt bother me. I can eat or drink anything and it doesnt bother me. I can have a cookie if I want, drink a freezer from Barnies, I even can have a peice of hard candy. The key is moderation!! If I have 2 bites... im sick, sick. I am actually having a blast at this. When I fix my plate I fix it the size of my 2 yr old, and then sometimes she still eats more than me. I have went from 297 to 240. I will say though that im not thrilled with the way my new tummy feels. If I have a empty stomach and put something in it whether it be water or a cracker.. I get a bit nausious. Then it takes me a little bit to calm down. I cant drink milk or eat ice cream (which is my total fav). Is anyone else having these issues? Can you eat sugar/sweets? I promise to keep in touch more! I cannot drink milk or eat ice cream either. I thinl I am niw lactose intelerant. Some days I feel I could eat a horse but by the 5th or 6th bite, I am full. I can do sugar in moderation. A perice of pie, no more than 2 bites

Have you tried the Lactaid milk. It is more expensive but it does well for cereal and along with a cookie. I personally am not having problems with milk or ice cream. But like you ............just a bite or two. I can eat sweets and just about anything I want so far. Congrats on the weight loss. I am still working slowly on it but then I am just over 1 month postop and looking forward to lots of weight falling off. Carol

Sometimes I feel like I never even had surgery because I feel so normal, but I just get full in just a few bites. I have no idea if I can tolerate sugar or not because I haven't even thought about trying it. That's part of what got me into trouble in the first place! I'm just sticking to the plan and getting into exercising now and feeling wonderful. I'm soooo happy that you're doing so well too, Kimie!!! Take care and don't be a stranger! Jan

I am now lactose intolerant too so milk and ice cream are a big no-no for me now. I have become the Soy milk queen, I have my favorite brands and flavors. But there are days, I would kill for a glass of milk (and a bunch of cookies) but it's not worth the belly ache or gas. I havent had enough sugar since surgery to find out if I dump on it or not. I know my biggest culprit prior to WLS was bread (bagels, donuts, muffins, biscuits, etc) and I cant eat any of that yet so I think of it as a built-in reminder of what got me here and not to push my limits. I'm no angel, but I try to eat low fat, low carb more often than not. Keep up the great work and touch base when you can. Amy
