I've been having trouble keeping food down the last few days - to the point I was doing liquid all day and food only at dinner. Surgery was September 21, 2004 and I'm still on protein only diet. Tonight I made thin porkchops, marinated. The marinade was too spicy - I realized that, but I was trying to eat anyways. I thew up everything, but didn't see the spices (pepper flakes). Now my system won't stop purging. I'm to the point I taste bile. How is that? I drank some water to try to help and within seconds was back in the bathroom with cold water coming out. My husband is afraid I have a blockage. Any opinions? Is my system just not calming down or do I need to get to the closest hospital (where they are not bariatric trained I might add)? The only pain is gas/fluid pressure where my pouch and throat are.

And if you cannot get your doctor. Then go to the hospital. And if they cannot reach your doctor they can call in a bariatric consult or get one on the telephone. The main thing is DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED or shy. You have just had major surgery -- you must be careful.
