Hi Guys!! I have started my pre-op tests. I had the lab work and pulmonary test done yesterday, next week I get the liver and gallbladder ultra-sounds, had my sleep study done last year. I am really working the list Dr. Tenewitz office gave me. The one thing that remains is the psych eval. I saw a couple of names listed on the professional page-- but of course if anyone has had their eval done locally (Orlando area) I would appreciate the name. I can then see if they are on my insurance (Tricare Standard) list. I appreciate your help with this. I can not tell you what a pleasure it is to participate in this message board. Charlotte

I agree with you about the pleasure to participate on the board, you hit it on the nail. Don't have any help for you. I live in south florida and I paid for my psych eval out of pocket. 150.00. I did not want to mess with finding the right psych person with my insurance. This one specialized in this type of eval and eating disorders. Took about 2 hours and she had my report to the surgeon in one week. I called her on a friday, set up an appointment on tuesday. what more could i ask for .

Chris- Sounds like you got a deal. I would not paying a reasonable fee out of pocket if I were assured I was dealing with someone familiar the issues and requirements of weight loss surgery.

Charlotte, I'll ask my friend who she saw in Orlando. He did her eval and it was cheaper than mine by about $75. I'll let you know once I chat with her this weekend. Amy

Hi, Don't know of one in Orlando. But I'm scheduled to see one here in Tampa. Cost $300.00 but the psychologists follows you before and after. She works in conjunction with the Dr. I am using. Also she has had Gastric Bypass Surgery and knows what to expect according to my support group members. Good Luck.
