Hi Amy. I am nervous too. My surgery is on the 16th - only 8 days away. It all seems like it is happening so fast. Part of me wants to turn and run the other way. But, I am going to stay strong and make it through this. I understand that it is a normal reaction. But, thank God I go see my shrink the day before. Best of Luck. Shelly

Amy, Welcome to world of normal emotions! You are feeling like most of us felt right before surgery. Then all the sudden a few days before surgery, I had a feeling of calmness come over me. I knew I was doing the right thing because peace rushed through me and I stayed that way until surgery. Try to tie up your loose ends today and then take some time for yourself between now and Wednesday night (get a pedicure, take a long bubble bath, have lunch with a friend, go to the beach, watch the sunset, whatever~do something just for you). You are going to do just fine! I hope that you feel up to coming to the Lake Mary Support Group next Tuesday night. Since you cant drive by then, I hope your husband tags along to meet some of us. If you cant make it because it's too soon, that is completely understandable. Hang in there, you'll be a loser soon enough Amy B.

Thanks for the advice Amy. Matter of fact, I did get a pedicure today! I feel a little better--it comes and goes. I know it's normal--I just hate it. It will be over soon. Hey listen I was wondering if I could mail you some christmas invitations to pass out at the meeting next week? I just don't know if I'll be up to coming. (Had dinner with Betty the other night---she warned me) If you'd rather not I could email one to you or do something else. What do you think? Let me know when you can. Thanks again, Amy Nolen

Amy, My heart goes out to you. I was so nervous, I was shaking inside and out. Could not even write my name. The last day was mine, I relaxed, had my hair done and would have had my nails done also, but knew I needed them without polish. The last 2-3 days, I was very calm, I knew all would be as it should. I turned it over to my God and let Him do the worrying. You will do just great. If we did not have fear, there would be something very wrong with us.

Amy, If you weren't nervous or scared, then I'd really think there is something wrong with you!! It' s natural to get nervous before going under major procedure, well, ANY procedure for that matter!! My sister is the bravest soul there is, she's had many plastic surgeries; still, she shakes and needs a little something to calm her down, everytime she goes under! So, you are just reacting normally to your situation... (((HUGS))) Good luck, we will all be thinking of u! -Flávia
