First Experience with Dumping
Today is my two week surgery anniversary. Since coming home, I have been very, very careful about what has gone in my mouth. Until yesterday.
I was doing some last minute work on the computer, and my husband made me some Cream of Wheat - thoughtful. I hurried into the kitchen, scraped 2/3 of the bowl into the disposal, then added butter and
sugar! I was on a complete autopilot!! Some milk to thin it all, and back to my iMac.
One bite...
Two bites...
Three bites, oh honey, I'm going to be sick!!!
I spent the next five hours in bed. First it was the sweats, nausea, shakes, my heartrate was through the roof...! Then I was freezing cold - I was in bed with three comforters and even a pillow on my head to keep warm. Augh. I guess that the best thing I can say is that I didn't
.
What caused your first dump?

The one incident that stands out in my mind was at about 8 weeks out and it was AWFUL and caused by either a tiny bit of BBQ sauce or the lean hamburger meat (no bun) I attempted to eat. Along with the lovely toilet adventure, I had excessive sweating, legs shaking, dizziness, then broke out in hives. All this while I was at work, it was a lovely situation.
I really feel for ya, I havent looked at a burger the same way since that episode. I bet you wont be eating Cream of Wheat for a while.
I have been fortunate that I have only had one mild dumping experience. The hospital gave me 100% apple juice. It kept landing me in the bathroom about 10min after I would drink it. It was pretty bad. Had some embarrasing experiences in the hospital bed too.
That's the closest I have come.
My stomach just gets sensitive I guess, so I keeps me from getting close to dumping.
I can't imagine how horrible that experience was for you!!!
