My first drink since surgery
Saturday night I went to a big birthday party for one of my closest friends, Helen. She had lots of finger foods, cheese and veggie tray and I tasted a little of everything. Her neighbor showed up with a gallon jug of a tropical drink called, Tipsy Turtle. It has pineapple juice, orange juice, coconut rum, banana rum and something else I cant recall. That drink is "right up my alley" at least it was in my previous pre-op life. Well, I had a half a glass and after about 15 minutes, I thought I was gonna get sick. I honestly couldnt tell if it was the food or the drink but I went into the bedroom and laid down for about 20 minutes and felt so much better. Decided not to drink anything else that night, except a sip of champagne when we toasted her during the cake cutting. Guess I am a "light weight" now
.

Sounds like you were "dumping" from all the sugars and carbs. Stay away from the juicy-sweet-mixed drinks. A wine spritzer would not have ruined your night, or a small shot of vodka in a sugar free mixer like a strawberry-kiwi Crystal Light sugar free Lemonade or even Propel water! Try that next time and see how it works.
