Hi, my name is Wendy T., I am 35, single and 290 lbs., and just starting out on my wls journey. I live in Tampa, FL and am trying to figure out which surgeon to use, I am leaning toward Dr. Murr at Tampa General. I am desperate for some friends who know what the journey is all about and can relate. I hope to meet many new friends and look forward to chatting with you in the chat room. Thanks! Wendy T.

Hi Lori...so do tell what's your plan for plastic surgery? Do you have to wait till you are finished loosing which you are probably at? In other words how long should one wait to see ps? Love your new picture...cute as a button! Your hair grew since I saw you in Aug. You're looking great. Ginny

Hi Ginny! How are you? Thanks about the picture! They are going to submit my paperwork, letters and pictures to the insurance this week, they said it takes between 4-6 weeks to get an answer. I am going to have the panniculectumy (tummy tuck) and breast augmentation at the same time. Next year I will do the inner thigh work. As far as weight loss. Both Dr.'s seem to think that I will lose about 6-9 lbs of skin from the belly area, so that would put me in the lower 130's. They said my weight loss is probably about done. Funny though...I have been losing pounds like crazy the last few weeks. I will be happy at any point now after plastics! Can't wait to hear of your news on your surgery date!! Keep me posted! Lori Just look at the accomplishments you have made in 10 months! You should be very proud of yourself. As for me, I'm so looking forward to being back to my normal weight. I can't wait to see Dr. Murr and yet I am so nervous, not about the surgery, the meds during and right after surgery. I have Chronic Urticaria and just about any medications make me hive. Perry told me to make sure he has all that knowledge and I will be fine. Hoping to hear from Susan this week. Keep us posted as for the tummy & breast surgery. I suspect I will be needing that as well since you and I were the same weight. I needed the tummy tuck when I was 116. Surgery for endometriosis really ruined my stomach. Ha ha I was waiting till I needed a little face lift to do it but so far the only thing holding up is my face, wrists and ankles! LOL

Hi Wendy, I am a patient of Dr. Murr. I am patiently awaiting my appoinment with him and that is my last stop before getting my approval and date. I think you made a great decision. If you haven't gone to the Orientation yet, that is where you can start and I think they are having a meeting this week...possibly Lori who posted listed the date and time. Good luck. Ginny

Hello, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who posted back to me, it made me feel very welcome. I have already gone to the orientation back when hurricane Charlie was threatening, I plan to go to the support group this Thursday evening at Tampa General. I am so excited to get the process going, a family member of mine has graciously offered to loan me the money for the evaluations. My biggest concern is going through all the tests and then not getting approved by the insurance company, I guess this is where I have to let go and let God, He has promised to give us the desires of our hearts so I just have to pray he gives me mine. I hope to talk to you all again soon. Wendy
