QUESTION - HOW MANY CARBS PER DAY?
Every surgeon/nutritionist is a little different. My surgeon doesn't believe you need to be a slave to carb counting. He says protein first (60g/day min), then veggies, then carbs. I am not able to digest bread or rice, so if I have any carbs it's usually from fruit, wraps or a little pasta. But on a side note, if I eat carbs there is a strong possiblity I will need some Gas-X around or those around me pay a price
! You may want to ask your surgeon what their diet recommendations in regards to carbs.

My nutritionist believes that we should have a little of everything, but protein comes first...The only carbs she asked to stay away from were refined starches. So only brown rice and wheat bread/pasta for this chick here! She also wants me to eat liver AT LEAST every 2 weeks... Yeah, right! Like I'm gonna touch that!!!

LIVER? I watched my mother eat some about a week ago. Does that count?? That's as close to liver as I ever intend to get!!!
My nutrionist also says protein first and she recommends between 60-80 grams per day, with 60 being the baseline. See? They are all a little different! And then the veggies and then the carbs, like Amy's nutritionist says. I've also been told that if I stick to that type of plan, the number of calories isn't going to be so important either, because of the small amount I'm eating.
