New to South Florida

Hi everyone - I just moved here from Atlanta. I'm 4 months post-op and looking for support group info. Prefer Palm Beach County or Ft. Lauderdale. Any suggestions?

Hey welcome to Florida.... I used to live in Atlanta...my kids still live there. I live in Deerfield Beach about 10 minutes from DelRay. Boca Raton Community Hospital has a support group, it is fairly new once a month. There are several others some of my Boca friends have mentioned I will try and get you some info. For dates check the Cori Center Ad that appears here they are affiliated with Boca. I would assume Delray Medical Center has a support group, they do WLS there also. Again Welcome

Hi Howard! Welcome to Florida! I live in Boca Raton and I go to support meetings in fort lauderdale because that is where I had my surgery. I am 5 months out and I feel great. I hope the same is for you. We meet at Florida Medical Center in the auditorium at 6:30 pm the third tuesday of every month. The surgeons run the meeting and have special guests like plastic surgeons and Psychologists. We have a lot of fun there and I have made many friends there that live close by to us. the best dr in the area is at fla medical center in lauderdale lakes. dr carasquilla esposito and english, carasquilla pioneered the lap proceedure, great support group even have bariatric phsycologist there to ans questions and diatician. try it.
