hello everybody - i finally found the right message board - i want to let people know about a program her in fl. that will pay for your surgery - i posted this on the main board a couple of months ago but got back several posts from people in other states that said their program was not the same. - program is called vocational rehabilitation service - program is for anybody - regardless of income - who has a disability that may in the future or now keeps them from working - only requirements are that you agree that you will obtain or keep employment after surgery - they will also require you to be turned down by your insurance co. or if you have no insurance at all. this program is not only for wls - 2 friends had carpal tunel (spelling!) surgery! i gentleman got his hearing aids! if you place the call just make sure that you tell them that your weight makes it hard to do your job or keeps you from seeking a job - good luck!!!! p.s. I am 9 weeks post-op and down 48lbs. and feel great! i could never have gotten this surgery without voc. rehab. and they payed for it 100%!!!

If you're not covered under your parents' insurance, it should.
