I've read LOTS of your posts for months now and I found the tone of your most recent posts to be angry and confrontational, which isn't like you! You've been short and not as nice or patient as you usually are. It's not what you're saying as much as the way you're choosing to say it. I'm really concerned, Alexa. Are you ok?? Is there something going on in your life that's affecting your mood? Can I help in anyway??? Take care!!! Jan

I was denied four times and hired an attorney (with reasonable payment plan). Hopefully you won't need it, but if you need the attorney's info, just let me know. Good luck!!

Bull's-eye Jan, I felt the same way!! Lexa posted recently that she's been going through some tough stuff lately... Let's cut her some slack here! Lexa, let us know if there is anything we can do to help you, besides online support! -Flávia

Lexa, We all have many things going on in our lives. Some good, some bad, some stressful etc, etc. Like Jan said in the past most of your post are always very positive. I don't know what you have going on right now, but the thing is you can't take your stress out on other people. Its not only not fair to them, but its not fair to yourself. If you feel shouldn't apologize.........then don't. But prior to posting a response to someone next time, maybe you should re-read what you wrote prior to submission. If it sounds offensive it probably is and probably should not be posted. I wish you the best in your weigh in Monday and your re-submission and the many other things I am sure you have going on in your life. If you ever need advice or need to vent we are all here for you, so don't burn your bridges before you have crossed them (asked for help). Best of Luck Michelle

hi alexa - have you tried your local vocational rehab. office for help with your surgery? i too was turned down by my insurance and then my dr. referred me to voc rehab and after everything was complete they payed for my surgery 100%. i posted on the main message board a couple of months ago to let people know about this program, but found out that our fl. rehab program is one of the best because people in other states posted back saying that their local offices would not cover wls - but here in fl. they do - as long as you have a disability that could keep you or does keep you from working - i work 2 jobs - one of them is physical - and i basically just told them that if i didnt have wls soon i would probably have to go on disability in a few years - they sent me for tests and approved me.

When I read your posts I too was a little surprised. Many of us know you have been through a rough Summer and are deep into your first year of college now. I know you are anxious and worried you will be denied again, but WLS surgery isnt going away, it will be here for you even if you were denied again. Yes, it might mean you have to appeal or get an atty involved or even get different insurance. But you need to focus on school now, not WLS. School is your key to getting a good job which leads to better benefits which can lead to WLS if you dont get it this time around. I know that sounds trite but I can honestly say that it seems like just yesterday that I was starting college and trying to find my place in the world. Honey, that was over 20 years ago...time flies! Everything happens for good reason. Be patient, keep your chin up, try to stay positive and things will work out. Amy
