I need your help. My daughter lives in Orlando (west side) and needs to find a psychiatrist for her depression. She is finally admitting she needs help. She is 25, single, has been suffering for years, but until now, was in denial. Depression runs in our family. Anyway, if anyone knows of a good psych. in that area, please post or email me. She is ashamed to look for someone and I told her I would try and help her out, but not being from the area, I don't know where to begin. Many thanks!!! Cindy

Try Dr. Harper, her counsuler's name is Pat Trim, they are wonderful, they are in downtown Orlando, on Jackson Ave. (do a search on google using "Pat Trim", orlando, FL) I bet they take CIGNA!!!!!!!

Cindy, I am so glad your daughter is admitting she has a problem and hopefully she will get the help she needs. The next big hurdle will be for her to actually go to the appointment. These days so many of us have dealt with depression, I know I have ! She shouldnt be embarrassed, it is part of life and she will feel so much better after she gets help. Her PCP could also refer her to someone that takes her insurance. Good luck to her! Amy

I don't know the area but I just wanted to say I am glad to hear she has admitted she needs help. In this time, it is a wonder everyone isn't at a counselor. I have an 18 year old that suffers with depression some also. She was injured in a car wreck a couple years ago and has been unable to have the "average" teen life. Along with having a friend sent to Iraq lately, the young people of this world have a lot to deal with. Us old people too. Good luck . Carol

Thank you everyone for your support and help. My daughter finally made an appt. today and I'm so relieved. I have suffered from depression for many many years and I feel so awful that I now seem to have passed it down. At least she will get the help she needs. I knew I could count on the support I always get from OH. Bless you all! Thanks again! Cindy
