How did you get over your pre-surgery fears?

I recently posted in the RNY forum for the first time, and I was telling everyone that I was scared about doing that particular surgery. The fear gripped me so hard, that I backed out of it many times. Now that I've already contacted a surgeon and everything, I'm getting anxious again. How did you get over your pre-surgery woes?

This is all very normal, you will have the what if's after surgery. This is a big change in life. Take all the positives and move forward. You will be on the losers bench soon.

I had trust in my surgeon. I focused on that and the fact that I was doing this for my health and I would die early if I didn't do it.
