Hello, My RNY went well yesterday. Celebration Health in Orlando has a neat TV/Internet/email system for each of its 100 rooms. It is all touchscreen technology, so it is taking me a while to write this. Lots of gas pain, and morphine is my temporary friend. 100 degree temp this morning, & coughing up green stuff. I just wanted to check in. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers! Kristen

WOW... You are doing great. Hang in there. Each day gets better. Walk walk walk. I know it's a pain with the IV, Morphine Pump,Heart Monitor and Catheder. (sp?) It helps with the gas pains and your body heals faster. Keep us posted. Karl

I'm pretty sure I didn't get morphine, but I got demerol and some other stuff for pain. I also had a temp and my lungs got junk in them right after surgery too. I was surprised at that, but kept practicing with the incentive spirometer to strengthen my lungs and increase the air capacity. Walk, walk, walk today!!!! It's the best thing!!!! You'll bounce back faster! Jan

Glad to hear from you. I think more hospital should have this set up. I agree with everyone else. Walking became my friend in the hospital. I had sharp pains in my left shoulder. Scared me at first I thought I was having a heart attack. Doc said it was gas. (seemed a funny place for it) He said walk and I did and it went away. When I left the hospital, I just kept walking. Everytime I ate, I walked. It made things so much easier. Keep us in formed. We will be waiting. Carol
