Hi there, need advice: Looks like my social life is taking some baby-steps here. (Sing with me: aaaleluiah! aaaleluiah! ) Ok, I was invited for a night of cheeses and wine note, I told no one about my WLS. Being almost 3 months post op, and knowing I hardly ever dump, what should I stay away from and what should I have? Flávia

I would say that light cheeses in moderation would be ok, but just be careful of course. I would totally stay away from the wine though. Way too soon to try it and it will probably get you sick as hell right now. If you don't want to tell people what you had done, tell them you have a very sensitive stomach, but you didn't want to miss out on the fun!

As far as the wine, you could tell them wine gives you migraines..lots of people have that problem... and one sip can cause a day of hell.

Good idea! I think it's the tannins (spelling?) that cause the migranes. That's a perfect excuse! Flavia could always drink grapejuice and lie about it too! haha

OMG, I'd not touch the wines! I went to the Food&wine festival at EPCOT Center and did fine, my girlfriend just let me "smell" the different wines and champagnes and I was fine with it. lol, grape juice, is a good one!! Wonder about the sugars in it!! lol The migrane is a great excuse too, will have to use that, I've used head aches as an excuse for something else before, why not to hide WLS?! Flávia

You could always say you'd had a bit of a "bug" and you're trying to baby your tummy since it is still sensitive. Hey - no one needs to know the "bug" was sugicially induced!! Vickie J.
