I have never been to one of these functions before and I am really looking forward to it. I am bringing my friend/coworker who is also a pre-op. So what happens at these gatherings? Just socializing and getting to know people? How long should I expect to be there? Anything I should bring? Anything I should know?

Trish, So glad you are gonna road trip to come to the next (actually, our third)Meet and Greet. This is definitely socializing and getting to know people, but it also offers an opportunity to ask a lot of questions and listen to others experiences. It isnt anything formal. The last two gatherings people hung out for about 3 hours, but people came and went as they chose, it wasnt structured. This isn't like a true support meeting, it's a group of OH.com people from FL getting together and sharing support, offering guidance and making new friends. You'll see Before and After pictures and hear about our own experiences with surgery or approval, etc. The best part is meeting people from the board and getting to know each other better. You dont need to bring anything, except questions or ideas and some moola for a bite to eat since we are sitting in a foodcourt. Travel safely. Look for the balloons to identify our group. Amy

Cool, can't wait! I am glad my friend is coming with me so I have an adult to talk to on the way.

The meet and greet is a big enough group to make it interesting and small enough that you can really get to know some people. The regular support group I go to in Ocala is so big that you can hardly hear sometimes and I miss alot. I think the M&G is fun! Jan
