Did anyone grieve the loss of food after surgery?
I did not grieve the loss of food after surgery, but I did moarn it before surgery and did eat way too much of everything. But, I knew once I did this surgery (and started my pre-op diet) that I was going to be serious about it and would have to give up alot of foods at least for a while. Just before surgery I cleared out my entire kitchen. I gave away or threw out what I was not allowed to have, because I knew that if it was in the house, I would eat it. Since the surgery. I'm doing great. I'm about 7 weeks out and do not crave any of the foods that I did before. Don't get me wrong, when work orders pizza and that is all I can smell I do wish that I could have a piece, but instead I drink something and then take my chewable vitamins and am full. I have not strayed off this diet once. I just don't have the desire to and not to mention the weight loss keeps me motivated.
As far as wearing a bra. I didn't wear one in the hospital at all, but after I left the hospital I did. I actually found that it helped me with being able to get the food in by helping me to sit up straighter. Without the bra I didn't have enough support and couldn't sit up straight for any length of time. I found I was less Nauseous when I wore my bra. (I wore soft cup bras so that it wouldn't irritate any of my incitions).

I grieved A LOT pre op!!! OMG!! I ate everythign in sight for 6 whole months. Sometimes I cried thinking I'd never again have the things I want... It was sooo sad, eating was such an emotional things for me, it got me through so much! I ate out of drive through windows almost 2x day 4 to 5 x week... Do I regret it? Hell no! I loved every second of it. Plus, I think I may have gotten it out of my system! hehehe
