I have an appt with the surgeon!!!

I am SOOOOO excited!!!! I called the surgeons office today to see what the nutritionist's name was so I could get a referral. Turns out she does not take any insurance, so I don't need a referaal, but anyway I got an appt with her. The lady i nthe office asked me where I am in the process so far and I told her what i have done. She said "oh, then we can schedule you an appt with Dr. W too." I almost jumped out of my seat! She also noticed that I have a far away area code and said she can get me in to see the nutritionist and the surgeon on the same day. Good lookin out. So I saw my PCP today, he was very thorough in noting my chart with exactly what I told him needed ot be there. I see the shrink Wednesday, then Dr. W and the nutritionist on the 3rd. My surgery is so close I can almost SMELL it!

Hey Tricia, That's great!!! I read your profile and we have a bit in common. I was also denied about a year ago although I totally qualify. I am now pursuing approval with new insurance, and hoping to hear approved soon! I see you have Aetna. I also do but mine's HMO. Are you doing the 3 or 6 month pre-op Aetna plan, or is that not required with PPO? Jezzie

I think the requirements are the same for all of Aetna. I am doing the 3 month. My Aetna plan is US Access. It's officially an HMO, but I have out of network benefits. Where in Florida are you? I am in Stuart, between Port St Lucie and Jupiter. Are you going to the CFL meeet and greet? I am going and bringing a coworker who is also a pre-op.

I'm doing the 3 month plan also, and have scheduled my 3rd month of appts for November.......I can't wait! Have you had any of your appts yet? I am in Lake Worth, which I think is about 30 or 40 miles south of stuart. I'm not going to the meet & greet. I have relatives in for the weekend from out of state. Do you have a surgeon chosen yet? Mine is Dr Wizman in Margate. I choose him last year before we moved to PB county, but I like him too much to switch at this point. Take care, talk to you later! Jezzie
