I was denied by United HealthPPO (high Plan) for my gastric bypass surgeon and I am appealing it. My surgeon has refile my claim. But my company will be change our insurance to Bluecross Option on November1 2004. Should I start the process with a new surgeon or continue with this one. Please any input is helpful...

Is your current surgeon a provider under your new insurance? If not, then you'll have to change I would think, since coverage would no longer be available for the first surgeon. Insurance isn't fun, is it? Good luck!! Jan

It, all depends on your surgeon,,mind me asking who he is...mine is Peter Tomasello of Tamarac,,,,usually they wil help with an appeal letter or you can look up www.obesitylaw.com..these lawyers will fight for you less than $300...keep in touch..

Why were you denied for surgery? It might be something that can easily be provided that wasn't submitted the first time. Also, check to make sure it's a covered benefit of your new insurance before abandoning the other insurance possibilities. Good luck!
