Snakes, I Tell You, Snakes!!
I have a conversation with Danielle about what it feels like to have the JP drain removed and I was being silly and told her it felt like a snake under your skin, but everyone KNOWS it really feels more like spaghetti!!!
Then, yesterday it was my turn to have my G-tube removed. Sylvia deflated the balloon and then gently twisted it. I could feel it inside my old stomach, and what a strange feeling that was. Then she pulled it out and I could feel it when it left my stomach and again when it popped out of my side. The best way to describe it is like snakes!!!!! The G-tube is bigger than the drain and it really did feel so odd!! I couldn't get my own joke out of my mind!!! The good news is 1) it didn't hurt at all and 2) I'm not hooked up to tubes anymore!!!!
Just had to share,

I never thought about what it felt like. I was just so glad to get it out. Everyone had told me it would hurt...maybe for a second as they were pulling it out...but that was all. It felt much better getting it out as my body was rejecting it and I was sore in the muscle area around the tube. Once I got it out, I had no pain.

God how I've grown to love you!
Snakes, huh? Bet you're loving this!
First let me say you were right, these things are NO SWEAT. It was funny b/c I was talking non-stop, so fast while Sylvia was taking the staples out and then she TOLD ME SHE WAS STARTING ON THE DRAIN!!!! DOH! I asked her not to even tell me
I have to disagree though, I could feel a sensation moving from my left side to the right however it didn't feel like spaghetti or snakes, it was such an odd tingling vibrating sensation that started left to right and would fade as it slid thru....VERY WEIRD, but ok. The only pain I experienced was when she first started...but that pain was on the outside, my skin was very red, irritated etc...by the time she yanked the bad boy out though, it did not hurt at all and can I say relief. I really did feel 200% better after that thing was out.
Sylvia convinced me that the G-tube will be better than the JP was, so I'm good for now but when my time gets closer I may have to call in for my mental health session with Dr. Jan
I enjoyed talking with you and sharing. You're the best. Anyway, congrats on not being "plugged in" anymore and on the weightloss. Way to go!!!!!!
