While this is a good question, and perhaps one that will inspire some to get motivated...I like Jan feel akward perhaps "boasting" about the good deed. I have a small United Way deduction from my pay check. It's really small but it's all I can do...I'm doing the single mom thing, with no govt. assistance and no child support, so... I also donate all of my son's "out-grown" toys and my old, too small, or now too big clothes to our local Abused Women shelter/counselling service since they are very near and dear to my heart (they did me an outstanding service during my time of need and still check up on me). Danielle, don't ever worry about giving "small" Remember if everyone in the country gave a dollar how much would go in so just you "small" amount may just be the $ that puts it right.

Currently not giving to any organized charity, have in the past. But I babysit free of charge 2 nights every other week for a co-worker/friend who works nights. ( I go and spend the night at her house with her children and get them to the school bus in the AM) I do give the $5.00 here and there when they are collecting at work for breat ca, aids ect. Used to volunteer at the church but have not been real active with that lately.

I was employed with a non-profit charitable organization for 17+ years. Even though I am no longer employed with that organization I support it locally with both my $$, my time and my talent. I also volunteer at the charitable organization that my husband is now the director of. There is no greater personal reward than knowing you are helping someone in crisis. It is part of who I am and definitely a part of my Christian faith. Good question! LuvitsunnyV@goal

Hi Amy, I am currently active in my church, especially since my girls go to school there. We give toys at Christmas time to needy children in our local community. We also donate food to the food pantry at the church. And I volunteer my time at the school to help keep the tuition down. I guess that last one helps me out. Plus I give weekly $$$$ to the church at mass on Sunday. I did not think I did much, but once I wrote it all down I quess it makes a difference. Thanks Amy and have a great day! Not to change the subject but I read in one of my WLS books that WLS patients should not donate blood...ever. Has anyone else ever heard of this? Kallen

I donated to the red cross after the hurricane. I also went to an INCUBUS VIP concert. The money that I paid for backstage passes was given to hurricane victims. I also donated to this zoo in s.florida that wa**** hard by the storm. The poor little animals on the local 6 news were so upsetting, drowning in their cages. =( I am a sucker for animals!! Kim
