Hi all, I am 2 years post op and just had the tummy tuck on 9/23 after loosing 193 lbs. My experience with the GBypass was GREAT! I was out of the hosptial in 3 days and was feeling great. Lost all the weight I could want and then some. Was really excited about my TT surgery and then it all went downhill from there. I had terrible treatment in the hospital and could not get my Dr to come in and see me. The Dr who was covering for him spent a total of 2 minutes in my room on Sat and Sun. He never even looked at my wound which is now infected, torn open, and stinking of rotten flesh. I have an opening that exposes my intesting. I am in bad shape and am getting nowhere with the Dr. I am seriously considering contacting a lawyer about this case as I have some medical experience (emt instructer and former Army Medic) and was shocked at the lack of steral technique used. Bare hands used to change dressings and many other issues. The TT left me deformed. I have fat rolls and look like a shark took a bite out of me. Nothing that was expected or promised. Was told I would miss 3 weeks of work, now going on 6 and the other Dr who gave me a second opinion said they need to go in again and repair the mistakes. So needless to say, I will be out for weeks or months more. Really having issues as a result of the surgery and need some advice. Anyone who has some time and would be willing to speak to me would be welcomed to email me. I guess I just need someone to vent with.

Why did you let anyone touch your wound without gloves on???? No wonder you've got yourself an infection!!! How awful!! Are you seeing an Infectious Diseases doctor to get a handle on your wound now? I do wish you luck! It sounds just awful and I'm so sorry to hear that it's left you this way!!! Jan

debridment of that wound, and a GOOD doctor who will help you. Then contact an attorney, and have HIM call the plastic surgeon. Do not deal with the plastic surgeon on your own AT ALL. Good luck in healing, good luck with everything.

Stephen, I am so sorry you are going thru so much after doing such a great job with the weightloss. Good luck to you and I hope you start feeling better and things take a turn for the better in regards to your TT. Definitely contact an atty, but focus on healing now, there will be time for that later. Hang in there Amy

This scenario is awful. If this procedure is covered by your insurance I would definitely speak with them about this matter as well. I concur with others about contacting an attorney as well. Did you have the procedure in the hospital or in the surgeon's clinic? My prayers are with you not only for recovery from the physical standpoint but for the wisdom to know how to deal with the doctors. LuvitsunnyV@goal
