SOS-Need a post op baratric doctor!

I just moved to Milton, Florida from Norfolk, Virginia. I had the proximal RNY done. I was told that a local baratric surgeon would not see me because he didn't do my surgery. I was told I could not buy any protein shakes from him either. My surgery was done May 6th, 2004. I would really like to have my lab work followed on a regular basis. Any suggestions or help will be appreciated so very much. Hugs to everyone who has given me advice or suggestions in the past! I would also love to meet some WLS support /friends in my new area.

Thats kinda mean that the local surgeon wouldn't see you. Or did someone just speculate that one wouldn't see you? Maybe try another one? I would say go through your primary care dr, but they aren't up on what all you need to check up on (unless you happen to find one who is knowledgeable with that). Also, talk with your Dr back in VA and see if he/she has any suggestions. Good luck!

Hi, I have the same problem. It seems that unless the doctor did the surgery they dont want to treat you. This is a real problem. I moved from New Jersey and no I am in Florida and I am having the hardest time finding someone. The only thing we can do is go to a local doctor. Good luck to you. Yours truly, Pat
