Amy's Angelette Update

Sorry for the late post on my two angelettes. Today was a long, crazy day for me - worked all day, then coffee with a friend, then a local political meeting. I just got home! ~ I rec'd two voicemail messages from Carol M's daughter telling me that Carol was doing fine and was in her room. Her daughter said she was pretty out of it today, but seemed to be doing fine. I'll call the hospital tomorrow and try to get more info and hopefully chat with Carol myself. ~I called Danielle Helmick's hospital room and she actually answered the phone. I was in shock, now I'll be curious to find out if she will recall talking to me LOL. She said she was in a lot of pain but knew it would get better. She also said she had already walked twice and my advice to her was to "hit the pump" right before you sit up, stand up or lay down to help reduce that pain. Our conversation was brief, but I'll call again tomorrow to check in on her. Unfortunately, I cant post on here from work, so I'll only be able to give you all an update when I get home tomorrow night. Keep both of my "pumpkins" in your thoughts and prayers this week as they are going thru a lot and need our support. It's not too late to post some kind words of encouragement to their support pages (hint hint). They profiles are under: Carol M (no period) and Danielle Helmick Have a great night, Friends! Amy

Amy, you can rest assured that Danielle remembered your call, because she told me that you sounded surprised that she answered the phone herself and sure enough, you even posted on it! She doesn't have a pump to hit before she sits up. They don't do it that way where she is. She was complaining that the pain was in her upper abdomen area and I think it's pretty normal. She really looked good to me and was in good spirits although she wasn't comfortable at all. Danielle is quite a trooper!! Even though Danielle has a busy day ahead of her, I will be visiting again today and checking on her before she's discharged later this afternoon. There's a PT visit today, instructions on her drain/G-tube, breathing treatments, leak test, and removal of the NG tube and foley, plus more walking - but not necessarily in that order! Danielle said she was glad to have heard from you Amy! I think it meant a lot! You're a good angel!! Jan
