Synthroid Users?

I am 8 weeks post-op and I haven't been losing as fast as others. I had my TSH levels checked and I was hypothyroid. I have to do these tests every 3 months due to having Graves disease. Anyhow, I thought with weight loss, my Synthroid mgs would decrease. Instead, I turned hypothyroid and I needed to increase my dose. I wonder if maybe I am not absorbing the Synthroid like I used to. I don't take it with iron or anything. Has anyone had the same issue with their Synthroid dose? At least I know why my weight loss was not as fast as it should be.

Yes, it is very common that your pcp would need to increase your synthroid post-op. We just don't absorb like we use to. Good luck, Erika L
