Appeal II/Telephone

Has any one had a appeal over the phone while the reviewers were looking over your info you sent in?I cant make the appeal meeting so they said I can call in and it would be like I was there.What do they ask,I would like to be prepaired.Thank You

Hi there- Yes I had the same thing with Cigna. The doctor and 4 NPs were so nice. They basically walked me through the teleconference and asked about my 8 week diet plan with my PCP. I explained it and they agreed that I had done everything to try and lose weight. I thanked them several times for their time and attention. They basically reviewed my letters of recommendation to have the surgery and they told me I would hear back from them in 24 hours. Within 4 hours, someone called and told me I had been approved. Marcie, Thanks for your response.I also need to know if you had to send in documentation from your nutritionst?They called me back today and said either more of a documentation or have the nutritionst callin on the teleconference and tell us why she didnt document more.

Audrey, I haven't gotten that far, yet, but I worked in insurance many years ago so maybe I could offer some advice. I would recomend that you have your copies of whatever documentation was sent in at your fingertips so if they ask about something specific, you'll know what they're talking about AND you'll know exactly what you've already "told" them. Hi there Audrey! I am sorry I am just getting back to you, I was away on business. Yes, I had my nutritionist send in a letter, but she wasn't asked to be on the teleconference. The more support you can get on the teleconference the better. Take care- Marcie
