Hi all, I had my surgery on Sept 15th and since then I've had difficulty getting in my water intake. Before surgery I had no problem at all drinking more than a gallon, its just been really hard since. Well I also post on my surgeons message boards and thought I would share a response on how to get in your water, here is what i was told: If you sleep 8 hours a day and work 8 hours a day, that leaves you 8 hours. 128oz= a gallon, divide that by 8 hours=16oz per hour, that is 4oz. every 15 minutes. You can do that without trying because that is one sip every 3 minutes and 3 minutes to get rid of processed sips. Also if you drink water at work you would be able to get in well over 128 oz a day. Well I'm trying to drink more but its still very hard, I've tried warm water, ice cold, crystal light, even changed brands of spring water. I hope this info helps out others who are also having water intake difficulties. Good luck Tammy P.S. 2 week check up I was down 28lbs, next weigh in is the end of oct

I drink far less water now as well, but I carry it with me wherever I go and I'm getting better about it. Thanks for the suggestions and encouragement. As for the 28 lbs., it took me a whole month to lose 28 lbs., so you're doing really GREAT!!!! Jan

You'd be surprised at how much you CAn manage . . . a little sip at a time.I am 7 weeks out, and only now can I take bigger sips. But I am doing almost 2 qts a day. So far, that's been OK. Let's see what happens. you know how recovering addicts always have that saying . . . One day at a time? Well, with us it's one sip at a time. Good luck!
