I had my surgery 9/29 (9 days out) and I truly feel great. Very little pain and am looking forward to being able to do all the things I used to do. But there is one very annoying feeling I have. I feel so bloated around my abdomen. I feel like it is full of air. Is that common? I really appreciate your input. Thanks, KD

BLOATING!!!! This is just the beginning I think. It last for a while and then some. I am a year post op and I still get that way at times. One night I was in the club and got like that real bad. My girlfriend was like you OK I could not tell her the problem. I said I feel sick and asked her to go outside with me I felt like I was going to pass out. I went out side leaned against the car and it was ON. I felt so better after it was gone. So this may or may not be apart of your life for a good while. Find out what works for you. I took gas x per my doctor and it worked for me.

I agree with everyone else, its very common. Also my doctor recommends walking and if needed gas x. I know its helped me. Congrats on your recent surgery and good luck on your wl journey, keep us posted. Tammy

One brand name is Gas-X. They are chewable tablets, and they even have drops for use with newborn infants. I bought the drops when I was newly out (They were called Tiny Tummies, originally for babies, but how funny is that?) and they really worked for me. Ask your surgeon first, but simethecone usually does not cause any harm or interact with outher meds or anything. I just breaks up the gas bubbles into tinier ones that your body can pass (Comfortably and without offending others) or absorb. Good luck, and if that's your only problem at 9 days out, you're doing GREAT!!!!!!
