Did I dump? Does it get worse???
The weirdest thing happened during class. At break, I had a small snack pack and a piece of cheese, and OMG, I dumped (I think) in about 10 minutes, I got really queasy and couldn't get up. Not trips to the bathroom though, thank the Lord! It was weird, b/c those are things I always ate before, but never together... So I guess I can't mix them up?! What's the deal with that? Anyway, I spaced out in class for about 15 minutes (fighting hard not to put my head down and fall asleep), and then I was good again. This was my third "episode" in about 2 months... Does it get any worse than that?

I've discovered that some foods don't mix well, either.
Wendy's chili w/cheese and a side salad is a favorite. I've also eaten ( at other meals) 4-6 chips, cheese and salsa. So, I thought, I'll try a taco salad -- my first since surgery. NADA............did not mix at all.
(for me anyway).

You can have different reactions. Sometimes I get sick to my stomach.
Sometimes I get sweaty and dizzy and feel like I need to barf. Sometimes it is instant bathroom duty.
Last night I had a reaction to a baked potatoe. I never know anymore but I try to eat a little and slow. It was over within 30 min. One time it was a Banana and I trotted back and forth for 3 hours.
I was craving shrimp the other night, got 2 lbs steamed. Ate 6 and could not eat anymore. Good thing I have room in my freezer.
The good news is: I have lost 100 lbs and I can eat most foods that are not high in sugar content.
Snack Pak might not make you dump, or the other thing you had. But together, maybe too many carbs. Like the post-er who said she dumps from potatoes. Dumping is the response to sugar processing in your system. It causes a "dump" of insulin. Sweaty, flushed, racing heart sometimes, queasy and neauseas, lightheaded, headachey, sooooo tired you can't keep your eyes open, or the need to go to the bathroom.
I may be the only poor schlub that used to dump PRE op! I had very bad diabetes and the same thing happened in response to carbs. Lucky me. BUT, since the surgery I haven't dumped yet. I also haven't had any simple carbs in 7 weeks. So that might be the answer to that, huh? LOL!
