I am looking for a brand of protein bars that are good. Any ideas? I have tried many and thus far none are go to the taste. At least my taste. I need something I can take when out and about. I have tried string cheese, it is too oily and seems to make me nauseas. I know others have the same problem of what to take for those times we must be away fom home. Besides, I can't eat Wendy's chili every day

I had the same problem. I tried SO many, but I couldn't stand the taste of any of them. Then, I tried Post's Carb Well High Protein Cereal Bars. They are light on the pouch, yummy, and easy to take along in your purse. My favorite flavors are the Cranberry Almond and the Peanut Butter. 10g protein 0g trans fat 12g carbs 115mg potassium Good Luck, Erika L

I really like the new and improved version of EAS Advantage bars. They have a lemon cheesecake and blueberry one that are really good. The new version is much better than the old version. I also like Slim Whey bars, they are small so one bar is perfect for us versus having to cut the other ones in half. Amy

Amy, I have tried Advantage bars, not so sure they were the new ones. Will check them out. What about the sugar? I have been keeping sugar under 5 grs. Thanks Amy

Marla, I have used Designer Whey bars since before surgery, and ever since. They go by the names of Uturn, Detour, and One Way, they are one of the few I can stand. steve

Hi Steve, I have tried the One Way bars and found a couple I like so so. Not tried the other two. I will pick one of each up and check them out. What a bout the sugar content?

Marla, I'm 2+ months out and I'm still to try a protein bar. I always take a thermic lunch box with me with enough food for the day, no matter where I go. I take: - ff jell-o pudding - cheese (sorry , it's too oily for you...) - yogurt - fruit (soft peaches, oranges, bananas) - cubed ff chicken breast (from the deli) -*I get this one a lot! - low carb crakers - small tuna/chicken salad kits , you can find them with low fat mayo and wheat crakers. - beef jerky - peanuts Hope this helps The only bad thing is that I cannot find a lunch box to match my Louis Vuitton purses!!! lol Flavia

You silly woman! I will settle for a lunch box! Thanks for the great ideas. I had not thought about the tuna and chicken salad kits. Only string cheese seems to be oily. I love NY white and many other types. Some from Ireland with a buttery taste.MMMmMM I will check my storage room for a lunch box, it not Dollar Store should have one. Cheers
