Had my pre-op yesterday
I was at the hospital for 4 hours, but the time flew by.
First, I have to say that everybody but one person was incredibly nice and sweet at TGH. Starting from the lady who checked me in (she had the coolest lipstick pen on her desk). She was fun to talk to.
The nurses in the lab were flat out the funniest women EVER! The one who took care of me had me laughing so hard. She was this ray of sunshine in my day. I loved her. I hate to say it, but I totally forgot her name. She just told me to call her Brown Sugar
She made me promise her that I give her my pants when I lose weight because she loved them and wanted them. haha!
The only person who was so-so was the woman I checked in with to get the arterial blood gas thingy done. She seemed bothered by someone being up there. The floor was dead. I waited like 15min and this man came and got me. Yeah, the thing hurt a bit, but the numbing stuff in my hand helped, although that burned like hell.
Everything checked out and honestly, I feel better about everything now.
I bought my stuff to clean out my insides, fun fun fun! I was shocked that the day before surgery I can have an actual breakfast, but by 11am I have to start with clear liquids. I won't eat a ton though for breakfast.
Anyways, I have much to do today. I just wanted to pop in and say hello!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good luck your turn is right around the corner. I had the surgery on 8/17 and it is the best thing I have ever done. Everyone coments about the difference in me. I had the pleasure of dealing with Brown Sugar, wasn't she just the greatest? Everyone that I dealt with at TGH was first class. I could not have gotten better treatment at a 5 start hotel. OK so it cost more than a 5 star hotel but they were great.
You may have been the guy she was asking me about. She couldn't remember your name, but remembered it had been a couple of months since you had been in there (which would make sense due to when your surgery was). I mentioned your name and she was pretty sure that's who she was talking about. She asked how you were doing and I told her that you seemed to be doing very well. She really cares about the patients and she loves her job. It shows in her smile!
I am going to make it a point to go back and see her and give her some clothes. She completely made my day when I was there. I needed the laugh and it put me in the best mood.
