Weight loss, too little?
Hi everyone, I started this journey at 223#s on 07/27/04. Only lost 33#s so far... Is it too little? I am getting frustrated... I figured that at 2 months people would be saying stuff to me, but apparently no one noticed, only the people who I have told about the suregery, and I think they are just trying to be nice. I walk and I eat right, lately I have been bad about my water and vitamin intake but working on it. I find it hard to get the water in not because of the drinking itself, but because I have to monitor (like every one else) the 30 minutes before and after meals that I can't drink... How do you guys handle that?

You're a light weight, so 33 lbs. is great!!! Your weight loss might have slowed because you're body is in starvation mode. I would wait at least an hour (I wait 1 and 1/2) after a meal to start drinking. You're flushing everything through your system too fast with the water. Give yourself more time to absorb the nutrition. When you can drink, carry the water around with you constantly. It will get easier to take bigger sips as time passes. Keep up the good work!!!

Hi Flavia, I also am a slow loser. Iwas 218, when I started, now I.m 167. That is 51 lbs. I am thrilled, I wear a size 14 instead of 24, my health is wonderful. My sugar is 98, col 150, BP 117/79. I am healthy, that was my main goal. I had to quit reading the May board because they all where losing 100 lbs. It bummed me out. Then one day some one told me about the site that tells you what is a good weight idea of what you should be. I was right where I should be. That has really made me feel better. Maybe take a look at it.

Flavia I started out at 226 and I was a fast loser. At 8 mos. I was at goal and now I am below goal. I exercised a lot -- every day because I feared that since I had only a 100 pounds to lose I would lose slow. That has not been the case for me. I'm now at 120. (106 total weight loss) I would suggest looking closely at your carb intake, your proteins and how much exercise you are getting. Congratulations on the weight You have lost and that is always better than gaining!!!!!
