Lesson learned

Boy have I been through a life changing experience! The best thing out of this (besides melting away) is that I have learned a valuable lesson about food that I wish I would have learned back when I was younger. I would listen to people preach to me on "the right things to eat" and "thats not good for you". Blah Blah Blah.. it would go in one ear and out the other. If I only knew then what I know now. First of all let me begin by saying that food is still my best friend, just not that old yuck full of sugar, and fat kinda friend that I am have grown to adore. Over the past week and a half I have been forced to choose wisely what I put into my mouth. Wow... what a difference. Now granted I cant eat solids yet, and everything I put into my mouth at this stage is yummy, but I can say that I would not have eat'n allot of these things a month ago. One of my new discoveries.. did you know that Eddy's sugar free, low fat Turtle icecream taste just as good as the regular one does? Oh man.. im in heaven! Now crazy me thought I was'nt going to be able to enjoy my ice cream anymore. I guess what I am tring to say is that this is all not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I mean I was looking at this surgery as my life is over. Wow.. have I learned and man am I happy! Kimie By the way.. I am officialy -10

Kimie, was your appointment today?? Aren't you just THRILLED to get rid of that JP drain?? Congratulations on your fantastic loss this week!! WOW!! When on earth would you EVER lose 10 lbs. in a mere week if it were not for this surgery? I've discovered the taste of things too. Instead of inhaling my food, I'm enjoying it. Mashed potatoes can be very flavorful and so can soup!! Who knew?? I'm so glad you're happy, Kimie!!! Jan

Kimmie, I agree with you 100%. I don't miss the old things I used to eat. Unfortunately, I did not learn that as soon as you did. Way to go! You are doing great with your weightloss. Hugs, Christine -70
