What singer or particular song reminds you of your childhood? For me, it has to be Elton John's Good Bye Yellow Brick Road album, well actually on 8-track ! That was one of my dad's all-time favorites and what we always listened to in his car. Amy

I grew up listening to Billy Joel. I loved all his albums. My favorite is New York State of Mind since I was born in Brooklyn, NY. Wow that brings back memories. Christine -70

Okay Amy..........this is really telling on my age. Since I am a lot older than some of you ( I am 50 years old) we are really going back. I was a teen during the AGE OF AQUARIUS. The Mamas and Papas, Captain and Tennille, the Jackson 5 and Paul Revere and the Raiders. NOW that I have gone back that far I REALLY FEEL OLD. Have a great day Carol

Does anyone remember that song, "Cover of the Rolling Stone?" I can't remember who sings it, but my uncle had the record. When I was little (like 6 or 7) my cousins and I would jump on the bed and sing along to that song over and over and over. When I understood some of the lyrics, I couldn't believe we sang along! "I got a freaky old lady named Cocaine Katy who embroiders on my jeans. I got my poor old gray haired daddy Driving my limousines. I've got all the thrills that money can buy But the thrill I've never known Is the thrill that'll getcha When you get your picture On the cover of the Rolling Stone." I rarely hear it nowadays but when I do, I remember jumping on the bed and singing along. Years later I found out Shel Silverstein (author of "Where the Sidewalk Ends" poetry book among others) wrote the lyrics. I can't remember the name of the band that sang it though. They also had another song on the same record called "Queen of the Silver Dollar" that we used to sing. "She's the queen of the Silver Dollar She rules the smokey kingdom something-something-something And the barstool is her thrown..." I'm going to be singing these songs all day now!

I guess anything by the Beatles or the Monkees reminds me of my pre-teenage years!! I'm 46-1/2, so that would be my era. My mother used to listen to "Sing Along With Mitch" and so I knew lots of those songs too. Grocery store music if I ever heard it!!!! Jan
