Nervous Nelly!

It seems like I've been swimming upstream for so long in my journey to have this surgery. I've been discouraged for several months due to an uncontrolled medical condition precluding me from being a surgical candidate. My blood pressure has been so uncontrolled that my surgeon and PCP wouldn't clear me. I've never had my paperwork submitted and in fact, had to do most of the tests TWICE because the tests were considered outdated. I'm on my fifth combo-drug therapy in 12 months and my blood pressure is FINALLY stable and has been stable for about 2 months now! Anyway, my surgeons office is finally submitting my paperwork to insurance for approval late this week or early next week. They needed time to go over everything again and make sure all my i's are dotted and all my t's are crossed. I'm submitting to UHC and I have no exclusions in my policy, please say a little prayer that I get approved. I'm a nervous wreck about it and I'm terrified my blood pressure is going to sky rocket again, or my arthritis will flare up again or something will happen. I'm so nervous.

Hello Shayna...I will keep you in my thoughts and am sending you all of my wishes!! ....... I know how it can be such a long and strenuous journey..but the end result will be so worth it!! Just make sure that you take time for yourself this week and focus on the things in your day you have direct control over..I know it is harder to do than say...but at this point, you know that you have done everything humanly possible that you were supposed to do and you have maintained your bp..so now it is in someone elses hands..you just have to keep doing what you were doing...and ..Keep thinking postive, postive, postive!!! Shayna, I think everyone tonight is feeling a bit overwhelmed with the long process we have to follow. I was positive I would be scheduled for Oct or Nov and haven't seen the surgeon yet. One dr is holding up my process. He was like a block of ice who thinks he knows what is good for me...NOT! Hope you get your pressure down. I haven't taken mine in 2 weeks, my pressure was way down but tonight I had something with salt and bang there it went, shot right up.

Good luck with your blood pressure, I hope it stays controlled. I know what a battle it can be to keep it under control. The littlest things will send mine skyward. I hope your process goes quickly and you receive the approval for surgery that you deserve.

Shayna, It definitely isnt easy for some, but a positive attitude, persistance and being assertive are key when things arent moving along. I am glad your blood pressure has stabilized and wish you lots of luck with a quick approval. Crossing my fingers here for ya, Amy
