Frances took it all!!!
Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I've been able to post. We had to evacuate on Thursday before Frances and it took us 9 hrs. to go from Port St. Lucie to Orlando (usually a 2 hr. drive). everytime I sipped some water in the car I had horrible pains in my stomach. By the time we got to Orlando, I had to go to the ER and ended up staying for 5 days due to a massive internal infection. I was discharged on Tuesday, Sept 7 and drove home to find that "Frances" had destroyed my house and most all of my furniture and belongings. We were hit by a tornado. It's been a long terrible month. We stayed in a hotel for 2 weeks and friends are letting us stay in a small home until 11/1 and then we have to move again. My husband is getting laid off next year and we were going to retire early, not because we wanted to. HA,HA, on us. Financially, this is a terrible blow to us this late in life and it feels like someone has died and I can't wrap my arms around them any more. I haven't been able to eat. Sleeping is out of the question and to top off this hurricane's fury today, when I came back to work my office is trashed and flooded from the recent heavy rains. My safe haven is gone. Naturally, the other 12 offices are fine. Thanks for letting my vent, I know that you of all people would understand my pain and loss. Please keep us in your prayers.

Deanna, I am so sorry for you. How are you feeling after the infection? The most important thing is your health. Your material things can be replaced eventually. I will pray for you and your family so that you can recover from this and so that you can enjoy your new life.

Deanna,
We've missed your posts on here. I am so sorry to hear all that you and your husband have experienced since the hurricane. I cant even begin to imagine how difficult things must be right now for you both. Please try to eat and rest so you dont get worn down and get sick. You will definitely be in my prayers as you go thru this difficult series of events.
Hang in there, Sweetie!
Amy

Deanna,
I am so sorry that you are experiencing all this. My daughter and her husband live in Port St. Lucie and she called in tears yesterday because of all the rain you had -- I believe about 8" in less than a day -- anyway, the plastic on her roof did not hold the deluge of rain -- her house is soaked........again.
Did you have insurance? Have you filed for a FEMA number? They can provide some funds for temporary housing.
Maybe there seems to be only darkness now -- but hopefully you will soon see that point of light that begins to brighten your world. I hope the infection issue is resolved and you are physically feeling better. I will keep you in my prayers.

Remember, "The darkest hour preceeds the dawn."

Oh Deanna, I am so sorry to hear such sad news. It's been hard for allot of us and still trying to get on our feet as well but nothing like you suffered. Fema didn't do anything for me financially but directed my name to US Small Business Administration to help where my insurance left off with a LOAN...I filled out all the forms and just got them back, forget a page....duh, and the cut of date is Oct. 12 so I suggest you contact FEMA immediately if you haven't as yet and your insurance which I am sure you already have done. Each day that goes by my cracks in my structures are larger and no return calls yet for estimates. WINK has a good special on tonight with people calling in to speak to officials that could answer questions about ins, contrators, etc. They have out this number 180022STORM if you have problems with your ins or contractors and if you didn't get enough from the ins co. My heart goes out to you and I hope you infection has cleared up. I'm so sorry.
